Wonderful Peter tagged me in this Christmas post a couple of weeks back, so here are my answers! You can check out his original post here.
Do you prefer giving or receiving gifts?
Both are great! Obviously getting presents is great, it’s lovely to be treated and to know that people are thinking about you and care about you. I also love shopping for people I love and finding the perfect gifts for them and seeing their reaction when they get to open them.
Do you make and stick to new year’s resolutions?
Kind of. I have made them in the past and stuck to some of them. I generally try not to do it as I think it kind of sets me up to fail, but it’s nice to make a fresh start sometimes.
Have you ever made a snowman?
Yes I made one just this year actually when the beast from the east took over the UK! He was a handsome chap.
Is your Christmas tree real or fake, and what theme do you prefer?
Fake. Unpopular opinion – I don’t like real trees. They’re unsymmetrical and ugly. I actually got a new tree this year and it’s snowy looking and beautiful. I have decorations that match my lounge: turquoise and purple, with lots of fairy lights.
Most memorable holiday moment?
That’s a hard one! I can’t remember one specific memory from my past except from trickier Christmases, but most recently last year my boyfriend and I had a whole Christmas to ourselves which was just perfect.
What holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?
Doing my Christmas Eve routine which I will be talking about next. It’s hard to have firm Christmas traditions when you and your family work shifts because every year is different, so this year we are spending the morning with my boyfriends family and the afternoon with my mum.
What is the best Christmas present you have ever received?
I struggle to remember things year on year! But last year my boyfriend bought me some Beats headphones which I’ve had SO much use out of, and an Instax camera that I’ve had some lovely photos from.
What are your favourite holiday foods?
It used to be a lot of the usual meat based products like pigs in blankets but this is my first vegetarian Christmas! An obvious one is chocolate, but also roast potatoes and I am obsessed with roasted parsnips too.
What is your favourite Christmas film.
Elf obviously. Next question.
What is your favourite Christmas song?
The Pogues and Mariah Carey.
What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
Spending time with my boyfriend, decorations, food and presents!
What would be your dream place to visit at Christmas time?
I’ve visited Germany twice at Christmas and it was amazing, so I’d love to visit some more Bavarian countries. Also Switzerland or Lapland!
Who do you spend Christmas with?
It kind of depends. Always my boyfriend unless one of us is working, then we split the days between my mum, my dad and his family.
When do you start getting excited for Christmas?
Literally like September. I love it.
You have one Christmas wish – what will it be?
Tough question. I wish to be financially stable enough that I can travel to a new country at least twice a year.
Thanks for the tag Peter!
